Lovegiving

Today is the perfect day to acknowledge the awesomeness of my weird, crazy, hectic life. I like to think of Thanksgiving as a day when we offer a lot more than just gratitude. A day of laughter-giving, food-giving (duh), and LOVE-giving. It's a day to appreciate the elements of our lives that we sometimes take for granted.
I am working this holiday. While waking up this morning seemed like a prodigious task, I feel lucky to be working alongside some wonderful people who can empathize with my exhaustion. We also get free food and higher pay, so how much can we really complain?
It's hard to believe that we're already at the end of 2016. Amidst all of the political mayhem, I feel an extraordinary responsibility to express my love for all the people and experiences that have helped me grow this year.
My old and new friends. I still don't understand how I managed to align myself with so many remarkably loyal friendships. I am also blown away by the talented and loving new companions I've found this year. You all inspire me beyond words!
The ability to perform! I have been involved with five productions/workshops this year, each of which brought new lessons, learning, and artistic growth.
The opportunity to teach and direct with Broadway Youth Ensemble. The star power of these kids is insane! They're now preparing for a Carnegie Hall performance in December.

Witnessing my love, Michael, settle into New York and fulfill his family's legacy by performing in the Fiddler on the Roof Broadway revival. The day he performed as Tevye was truly the best of my life. His Tevye was grounded, strong, and contagious. I am astounded by the amount of ease and comfort he has gained through hundreds of performances, rehearsals, events, and interviews (and as a Broadway newcomer!). It's quite an accomplishment to transition from a small barn theatre to a 1700-seater in just a few months. Seeing the show tonight will be the perfect way to celebrate his challenging and rewarding year as an artist. I know the best is yet to come!

My family who has moved me around NYC three times in the past 16 months. Now that's love! (Dad's still trying to master the selfie)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I love you. Thank you for all you have given me.
Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good. - Maya Angelou
